Transportation to and from Chicago O'Hare Airport or Midway Airport is available by limousine, car rental, or Airtran-O'Hare ComfortVan Service. There is no public transportation to Fermilab, and taxi service is costly. You are strongly encouraged to rent a car, sharing where convenient.

Airtran-O'Hare ComfortVan Service from O'Hare to Holiday Inn Naperville and Fermilab

Airtran-O'Hare operates a van shuttle service between O'Hare, Holiday Inn Naperville, and Fermilab approximately every thirty minutes between the hours of 6:45 a.m. and 9:15 p.m. daily, except Saturday and Sunday. Service is also available until 11:59 p.m. from O'Hare by ADVANCE RESERVATION ONLY. The cost of this shuttle service is $20.00 for the first passenger, and $6.00 for each additional passenger in a party. (Shuttle service to/from the Holiday Inn Naperville is $15.00 per person.) Airtran-O'Hare also operates a limousine service from/to Midway Airport. A limousine from Midway to the Holiday Inn Naperville is $26.00 for the first member of a party, and $6.00 for each additional person in a party. A limousine from Midway to Fermilab is $34.00 for the first person in a party, and $6.00 for each additional person in the same party.

From O'Hare: Reservations are not required except for arrivals scheduled after 9:15 p.m. Arriving passengers must call 1-800-851-0200 upon arrival (after claiming luggage) for pickup. Passengers are then asked to proceed to one of their pickup areas. ComfortVans load on the Lower Level of O'Hare, at the roadway nearest the building.

To O'Hare: Reservations must be made at least four hours in advance. When making reservations, please allow one hour and 45 minutes from the estimated pickup time to flight time. Allow additional time during inclement weather and road construction. Airtran is not responsible for missed flights. Be at the scheduled pickup location at least five minutes prior to your scheduled departure. Be sure to notify Airtran of any changes or cancellations in your O'Hare reservations.

Limousine Service

Reservations for limousine service should be made in advance when possible. We suggest the West Suburban Limousine Service. They are familiar with Fermilab and do not overcharge. Reservations for this service can be made by calling West Suburban at the following numbers:

Recommended Driving Route from O'Hare to Fermilab: Take the airport exit marked ``To City''. Travel about 1.5 miles to Interstate 294 South (towards Indiana). Turn right and travel about 8.5 miles on I-294 to the East-West Tollway (I-88). Take I-88 West (to Aurora) approximately 17 miles to the Farnsworth North Exit and turn right. Travel 2.9 miles to the Pine Street entrance to the Fermilab site.

Recommended Driving Route from O'Hare to Holiday Inn Naperville: Take the airport exit marked "To City." Travel about 1.5 miles to Interstate 294 South (towards Indiana). Turn right and travel about 8.5 miles on I-294 to the East-West Tollway (I-88). Take I-88 West (to Aurora) approximately 10 miles to the Naperville Road South Exit and turn right. The Holiday Inn Naperville will be on your right just after you travel under the Tollway overpass (at the intersection of Naperville Road and Diehl Road).
