Subject: Meeting in Leon
Dear Collaborator
We will hold a FOCUS meeting in Leon, Guanajuato. The dates for the meeting
are Friday and Saturday, February 3-4, 2006.
The meeting will take place at the auditorium of the Instituto de Fisica,
University of Guanajuato (IFUG.)
IFUG
Our institution is located on the northern part of the city.

Leon is in the geographical center of the country.
GETTING TO LEON
The closest airport to Leon is the international "Aeropuerto del Bajío"
(BJX), which is about half an hour ride by car from Leon. Airport taxis are
available at the main lounge. There are connecting flights when arriving to
Mexico City's International Airport.
You can also get to Leon by bus from all large cities in surrounding states,
like Guadalajara and Mexico. Buses take 3.5 hours from Guadalajara, and 5.5
hours from Mexico City. There are no trains coming to Leon.
SUGGESTED HOTELS
The closest hotel to IFUG is Mexico Plaza, which is about 15 min. walking
from IFUG. Usually this hotel offers minivan rides to IFUG, but return to
the hotel should be by taxi. We have booked 18 rooms for collaborators
coming to the meeting. Remember to use the meeting code 3366 (plese mention
also Instituto de Fisica) when reserving your room, to get the rate posted
here.

MEETING DINNER
The place for the meeting dinner is yet to be decided.
OTHER
Please make sure to do your reservation soon, since Leon holds its Fair (the
first or second largest in the country) on those days. If you decide to
stay in Leon for sunday, the fair hosts Palenques (cock fighting) all
nights, besides other amenities.
At the auditorium we will have everything necessary for your presentations,
besides wireless link.
IFUG will provide coffe during coffe breaks. With respect to lunch, there
are many restaurants close to IFUG. Our institution is located in the most
important commercial area of the city. There are argentinan, italian, and
spanish restaurants nearby, besides mexican.
