The Fermilab HyperCP collaboration has built an extremely high rate spectrometer which is being used to make high-statistics studies of charged hyperon and kaon decays. The data taking ended in January 2000, the experiment having collected over 250 billion events. The primary goal of the experiment is a sensitive search for CP violation in Xi-minus and anti-Xi-minus decays. This search is being done by comparing the proton angular distribution in Xi-minus -> Lambda + pi, Lambda -> p + pi decays to that of the conjugate decays, the CP violating observable being the product of the Xi and Lambda alpha parameters minus the product of the conjugate alpha parameters. A preliminary study of the CP asymmetry at the level of a few times 10E-3 and based on few percent of the data will be presented: the ultimate goal of the experiment is a sensitivity of 2x10E4.
