The HyperCP experiment is searching for direct CP violation by comparing
the proton angular distribution in charged cascade hyperon decay to that
of the CP conjugate decay.  Over 1e9 cascades and 3e8 anticascade decays
were collected in the 1997 fixed-target run at Fermilab.  The collaboration
expects to measure the hyperon CP asymmetry with an uncertainty of about
2e-04.  Results from a preliminary analysis of approximately 10% of the
data will be presented.
