About 1/3 or the ansley cables have been removed between MC7 & MP7 and stored in MB. NOTE: Per Stephen (7-16-01), another 1/3 of the cables will be removed and the last third will be scrapped.
A T&M requisition to rig out the magnets is in place. The removal will be done the latter part of July.
The repair of the JGG coils is going well. A 7" &endash; 10" long by ~ 1/8" deep valley of copper was missing in an area along a section of mating turns of copper in the coil. At this point, the dollars set aside to repair the coil appear to be adequate. The schedule to complete the repair by the end of August looks do-able.
Peter will return to Fermilab on July 23rd to proceed with checkout.
Raja will decide by 1 month which large chamber he will use. Currently, he is looking at having 2 chambers US of the RICH and 1 chamber DS of the RICH. At some point, Gary Smith will make a drawing of the chamber mounting scheme. Also, people are coming July 20th to work of E690 chambers, which are at lab 6. Longo's calorimeter, currently in MC7, will be relocated to DS of the RICH & PWC.
A cost estimate of $14K to remove the steel and $4K to relocate the calorimeter has gone to PPD office where Ellie will fold a change into P907's ICO.
Mokhov, MARS program expert, will assist Thornton.
The next meeting will be Wednesday, July 18th, Theory Room, WH3NE at 10:30AM.
