Bob Woods has re-checked his calculations regarding the steel supports that go into Mbottom. Rather than a single beam down the center, there will be 2 beams at the 1/3 points on the ceiling. Final calculations and drawings will be given to FESS for their evaluations on August 23rd.
In order to clear the Mbottom floor, the Ansley cables currently stored there will be moved from MB7 to MB8 on Wednesday, August 29th. After the PAC meeting in November, a decision will be made as to whether the ansley cables will be rolled up or disposed of.
Schedule:
August 23rd - start MC7 steel shielding removalAugust 20th - order steel for MB
September 4th - begin fabrication, begin slab installation
September 10th - start lowering steel into MB
Installation of the JGG & Rosie will be done in FY02.
The ICO will modified to include steel work, concrete work and purchase of roof materials in FY01 rather than magnet installations.
Raja is working to determine the location of secondary beamline elements. Likewise, Thornton is progressing on the primary beamline.
