The bad coil was successfully repaired and returned to Fermilab. It is located at MAB. The coil was flushed after repair. A small plastic bag of sediment was flushed out of the coil. Further flushing of the coil, as well as the other three coils will be done. Eventually, a flow test will be done on each coil.
Jim Ellermeier has inventoried all pieces of the JGG steel in preparation for assembly of the magnet. When a new ICO is in place, the plan is to begin magnet assembly in MC7 soon there after.
How to level the JGG was discussed. The usual method of shimming under the corners cannot be done because the floor [slab] loading would be too concentrated. Currently, the leading method is to lay down a _" to _" "pad" of grout, which will self-level on top of the new concrete slab.
Chuck Grozis will work with Dave Erickson to install an epoxy patch on the damaged coil.
Lab 6: per Del Allspach, approval for gas systems operation is nearly complete. Magic & P10 gases have been ordered, but more may be needed.
TPC: the existing gas rack at MT will be modified and used for TPC testing.
The next meeting will be Wednesday, October 10, Theory Room, WH3NE at 10:30AM.
