Minutes of E907 meeting on Wednesday March 20, 2002

1. Beams

Chuck Brown is going tour MC5 & MC6 (the primary pre-target and primary target area) this week.

2. Beam CKOV

Jim has assigned people to ID 10" iron beam pipe, and to review the condition of the two head to determine what parts needed to get them in working order. Jim is encouraged to have anyone looking at the Beam CKOV to also contact the system manger, Mike Heffner for input.

3. Magnets

The JGG procedure is nearing completion. Also, it is established that the magnet faces such that water and electrical connections are on the upstream face. Any comments should be forwarded to Jim Ellermerier.

A draft of the Rosie installation procedure is due Thursday 3/27/02.

4. CKOV

The preliminary design of the support stand is complete, including the support for chamber 1 & 2. Ingrid has sent out an email with the design attached. Interested parties should review and forward comments to Ingrid.

5. NCAL

Stand design complete, still waiting for person to do drawing.

6. RICH

The RICH support stand drawing has been revised, but needs to be checked.

7. Chambers

Need Ed Hartouni's input before assigning a person to design support brackets for small pc cards, cable connections and air flow box. Design should be checked with Ingrid to make sure there are no interferences with chamber mounting supports.

8. TOF & Fringe Field

Some fringe field calculation on Rosie were done by Bob Wands. Apparently more calculations are needed. However, Jim will have Bob to contact the TOF system manager (Tim Berksfield)(sp?) to make sure of the any calculations cover the appropriate field area and direction.

9. Alignment

Virgil is scheduling a survey crew to map MC7 floor area. Starting at US MC7 there will be a point every 5 feet on the beamline. Starting at 10 feet US of the 12" high concrete slab, there will be points on a grid ever 5 feet on the beamline and 5 feet either side of the beam line. He will also have the corners of the analysis magnets located on the floor.

Virgil will also speak to Cat James and Chuck Brown to determine which of the two lines on the MC7 floor is the correct line for centering E907 apparatus.

Question on Raja's beamsheet - does the beamsheet and Gary's drawings agree on apparatus locations?

11. Next Meeting

The installation meeting will be switched from Wednesday to Thursday. The next meeting will be Thursday, 3 PM, March 28th in WH-11SW.
