BEAM - Beamline
Chuck Brown has a preliminary beam sheet from Ed Hartouni. He will work on getting a mechanical engineer assign to the project so beam line design can commence. The plan is still to begin opening up the MC6 target pile area the latter part of April.
UBL - Upstream Beamline Detectors
TGTW - Target Wheel
Jerry Peterson:
I have not yet ordered the target wheel, pending a definitive statement of whether it is to sit in the shallow rectangular alcove or the longer cylindrical entrance tube. I can get 8 instead of 5 samples in the rectangular area.
After it arrives, I have some modifications to make, and I will start assembling samples.
CTGT - Cryogenic Targets
NTGT - NuMI (MINOS) Target
Ron Soltz:
I have contacted Vahe Ghazikhanian of UCLA about a gating grid for the TPC.
Peter Barnes:
Magnet coil shimming materials ordered 4/15/02; will be shipped directly to Fermilab.
Additional concrete slab under Rosie will be poured this week. Magnet installation to begin May 6th.
JGG - Jolly Green Giant
Rosy
Ingrid Fang:
The outer frame design for Chamber 2 is completed. The last thing is to design the cart itself. Gary started working on the inner frame. I plan to check the drawings after I finish the cart design.
Signed drawings are expected in 3 weeks.
Requisition for procurement of discriminator adapter boards will be forwarded to Peter this week.
Requisition with vendor names and drawings will be forwarded to Peter for procurement of supports, rail, etc.
Ingrid Fang:
Ncal drawings will have to be revised to reflect the change of beam height of 81". I will look into this upon the completion of the cart design.
Ron Soltz:
E907 enstore access has been requested and is being processed.
Expect to begin move of cvs area to cdcvs late this week/early next.
Alignment
After new slab under Rosie is done, layout Rosie base will be marked on top of it. Additionally, alignment will be in standby to survey in the base pieces of both analysis magnets.
Peter Barnes:
Held a disussion of the magnet and RICH installation schedule. Essential scheduling information that came out during the discussion:
- Magnet T&M rigging requisitions entered into Fermilab system 4/16/02 and will take 2 weeks to process.
- The McMaster Carr coil shimming material has been ordered and should arrive any day.
These two (above) are the minimum required elements to start assembling the magnets. Additional desirable elements are:
- Roofing materials won't arrive before early June.
- The earliest the RICH rails could arrive is the second half of May.
- The short shutdown is currently scheduled for 5&endash;7 days starting May 15, but it is still wiggling around (later).
Based on the discussion, we decided to go ahead with the magnet installation as soon as we can, trying to complete it before the shutdown. We will schedule the RICH and roofing when we have better information on the delivery schedules.
Peter Barnes:
Recquisition for new roof panels and doors for MC7 entered into Livermore procurement; expect order placed by 5/24.
The next call will be Thursday, 25 April, at 3:00 CDT in WH 11SW.
