BEAM - Beamline
Chuck Brown:
Riggers to begin opening target pile Monday, 4/29. Once target pile is open, Cat James request a survey of beam line components before they are moved.
Chuck has preliminary beam line sketch from Hartouni. From the sketch, Chuck will develop a beamsheet.
UBL - Upstream Beamline Detectors
Beam CKOV - Mike Heffner
Calculations done for lengths, and they are the same as previous calculations. Detailed information is on the BeamCerenkov page of the MIPP page. M2 mirror holes should be set at 5, and 7 mr. Beam dispersion of 1mr is OK, if more we may have problems.
Still to be done...Look at magnetic field to see if it will be a problem for the mirror alignment of the downstream head.
Mike Heffner is progress with physical and operational specifications for the CKOVs. Some information is on the Web page. Partial info is the longer of the two CKOV will use 12" diameter beam pipe, the shorter of the two will use 10" beam pipe.
TGTW - Target Wheel
CTGT - Cryogenic Targets
NTGT - NuMI (MINOS) Target
Ron Soltz:
Gating Grid - contacted Vahe G. of UCLA on Gating Grid
- STAR prototypes loaned out (thinks to SLAC).
- STAR design is overkill for MIPP (~$10K).
- Discussing design of a new module for MIPP.
TPC docs - travelling to LBNL on Monday to retrieve remaining [on-site] docs and some electronics.
New concrete slab under Rosie area was poured. PO for roof materials is expected to be placed in a few days. Removal of existing roof will commence next week. Getting signatures on procedures for installation of analysis magnets is in progress.JGG - Jolly Green Giant
Rosy
Ingrid Fang:
Good news-- the design work is complete except for the tracks. I intend to use the Ncal track plate design for this one with some minor changes. The two brackets used to secure the cart will be field welded to the track plate. I will work to coordinate drawings with Gary next.
David Lang is producing a document of the readout system. Support stand: inner frame drawing complete, ready for checking, outer frame 95% drawn, cart design complete, ready to draw, rail design starting &endash; plan, ready for purchase in 2 weeks.
LLNL placing PO for discriminator pc adapter board. Gas on order for chamber testing at lab 6.
Wands' maps of Rosie fringe field calculations forward to Tim Bergfeld.
Ready for support stand purchase: faxing LLNL PO request, with Burns Fabricator's quote to Peter.
Ingrid Fang:
Ncal drawings will have to be revised to reflect the change of beam height of 81". I will work on this next week.
With Beam line height at 81", Ingrid to design 1/2" shim to fit between caster and support stand.
Ron Soltz:
Linux Build - slaving away, progress soon
General DAQ - Andre Lebedev is intersted in joining the DAQ effort at 50%.
ODE - have begun conversation on run control needs
Alignment
Virgil will have the floor marked for base steel location on Tuesday.
