Upstream Beamline

BEAM - Beamline

No report, rigging crew off on another job.

UBL - Upstream Beamline Detectors

Beam CKOV:

Inside of beam pipes must be relatively clean; most of the length of both beam pipes can be 10" diameter; only about 7 meters of the longer pipe needs to be 12" diameter.

Targets

TGTW - Target Wheel

CTGT - Cryogenic Targets

NTGT - NuMI (MINOS) Target

TPC - Time Projection Chamber

Need to determine actual weight of TPC. Norm Bosek's engineering note on lifting fixture may help? Lifting fixture ID # 127.

Magnets

Stacking of steel started 5/21. The base pieces of both analysis magnets are in place and grouted. ID of repaired coil needs some adjustment before it will fit over the pole piece. Once the MC7 roof is replaced, MAB will paint the magnets.

All drawings will be complete in about 2 weeks.

DC - Drift Chambers

DC #2 support stand drawings are ready for bid.

E690 DCs need to build fixture needed to hold chambers when they are opened for repair.

Discriminator adapter boards &endash; 50 Friday and the balance middle of next week; Dave Northacker will work on design of bracket to support cards and cables

Iowa chambers &endash; Questions for Raja/Peter about chamber support & service: plan to remove chambers if they have problem? Or repair in place? Is Rosie magnetic field a concern?

TOF - Time of Flight

RICH - Ring Imaging Cerenkov

PO for rails (delivery first week of June) and support stands (delivery end of June). Neon tank at PC4, RD#10032, probably will not be used for gas at MC7. Need to segment rail where it passes over cable vault in MC7 floor to allow removal of floor grate and gain access to vault.

NCAL - Calorimeter

Need rail .dwg & assembly .dwg.

DAQ - Data Acquisition

Alignment

Need to verify center line of analysis magnets, but final steel shimming & leveling of JGG magnet steel sets the beamline height at 81 1/2".
