BEAM - Beamline
No report from Chuck Brown, but target pile is open down to the steel shielding
UBL - Upstream Beamline Detectors
Beam CKOV: Mike Heffner
Sent e-mail to Jim about pipe lengths. At the last installation meeting I was assigned to talk to Gordon again about other cerenkov heads. He responded, but it doesn't seem likely that there are others. I don't know where else to look. Maybe someone else can? I have not had time this week to see what Larry has done. I did receive e-mail last Friday, and he stated that he would contact Leon about the motor controls.
Since the CKOV will need a "fast purge," Dave N. suggest locating a gas system mixing rack under the MDB catwalk between MC & MP where is would be accessible with beam on.
Question by Peter: rather than making the manual CKOV look just like the remote control CKOV, can the existing shafts on the manual one be motorized?
TGTW - Target Wheel
CTGT - Cryogenic Targets
NTGT - NuMI (MINOS) Target
Ingrid Fang:
The TPC support stand consists of two major structural elements. They are TPC support frame and TPC support frame stand.
The TPC support frame will be wheeled into the JGG opening. The TPC support frame stand will be permanently connected to the upstream side of JGG. Both units will be made of Aluminum material. The wheels and rails will be made of stainless steel.
As I mentioned before, the TPC unit can be lowered about 1" from the center of the JGG.
Gas System:
Mixing racks will be at MC8 gas shed, distribution racks will be in MC7; system is not ready to operate yet, so Dave will connect temporary purge locally to TPC.
Steel and coils of JGG are assembled; stacking of Rosie in progress.JGG - Jolly Green Giant
Rosy
Ingrid Fang:
The drawings have been checked based on the new change of beam height of 81.25". Gary is working on my mark-ups.
All drawings of supports stands will be complete in about 1 week.
Ingrid Fang:
Drawings are made. No Changes since last week.
50 discriminator arrived and delivered to lab 6 on the 29th, 160 arrived 6/3.
Dave Northacker estimated it will take him 2 weeks to build a bracket assembly to support preamp cards and cables for chamber currently on test stand at lab 6; Other concerns &endash; preamp heat dissipation, fan type, CFM requirement.
Iowa chambers &endash; support stands will be designed assuming any needed chamber repairs will be done in place
Tim Bergfeld:
The TOF has made alot of progress but has nothing to report. This is the PR from Carl. I am working on getting you the exact electronics we will need from PREP and will hopefully get you that soon.
Fab for rails (delivery first week of June) and support stands (delivery end of June).
Ingrid Fang:
I almost finished the checking process. Gary needs to make a assembly drawing to show how the existing stand slides on top of the new one. NO change since last week.
Alignment
Virgil Bocean:
The Beam height (in the Fermilab absolute height system) determined during the installation of the base steel plates for JGG and Rosie is 8985.157 inches. The average of 50 feet of floor heights on beamline immediately upstream of the concrete pad is 8903.932 inches. As a result, the beam height with respect to the floor is 81.225 inches.
The beam height must be also confirmed after the installation of the two analysis magnets is completed, when we will perform a detailed "as built" survey of the magnets.
After June shutdown, will verify the center of both the JGG and Rosie.
The next call will be Thursday, 6 June 2002, at 3:00 CDT in WH-11SW.
