BEAM - Beamline
UBL - Upstream Beamline Detectors
Beam CKOV: Mike Heffner
I have sent an e-mail to Larry about what we talked about in the last meeting. I got no response so far. I have done no other work on this system this week.
No progress on changing manual operated CKOV to motor operated; established that a "standard system" is available to remotely operate a motor controlled device. One needs a motor control chassis, camac card & interconnecting cables; need pipe support stand designed.
TGTW - Target Wheel
CTGT - Cryogenic Targets
NTGT - NuMI (MINOS) Target
Ingrid Fang:
The design for the TPC stationary stand is 50% complete. The major members of this frame were calculated by using the worst load combination due to the movement of the TPC. This stand will include an aluminum platform all around approximately 24 inches wide. One end of the platform will attach directly to the JGG using steel angles welded to the JGG. The other end of the platform will be supported by aluminum columns connected to the 12" concrete floor pad.
Wire/tool is needed to remove sticks for repair. Samples "in the mail" from vendor.
Assembly of steel and coils of both JGG and Rosie are complete. After discussing expected forces on steel parts of Rosie with Wands, LaVallie will specify amount of weld needed to secure steel parts.
How will we Ziptrack the magnets?
JGG - Jolly Green Giant
Rosy
Ingrid Fang:
The support cart and rail drawings are ready to be signed off.
All drawings of supports stands are complete; Kilmer to solicit cost estimate for the procurement &endash; in-house and outside.
All 260 discriminator adapter cards have arrived and delivered to lab 6.Dave's work on DC cooling/shield bracket and enclosure design to continue, but will not de-cable and install it on the DC currently on the test stand.
Drawings needed to build transfer frames (which are needed to disassemble the DCs for repair) are being made.
Iowa chambers &endash; MC7 roof panels will be constructed such that a section of panels can be removed so the chambers can be lowered into place through the roof.
Rails & stand due from fabricator; will move RICH tank from PC4 to MC7 this week.Electronics will remain in PC4 for now; at operational start up, the Russian HV supplies will be used. New HV supplies ($1K each for manual control; $2.5K to $4K for features such as remote control) will be purchased over time and phased in as the Russian supplies fail.
Harvard requisition to purchase electronics in progress.
Need rail .dwg & assembly .dwg &endash; low priority
Alignment
After June shutdown, will verify the center of both the JGG and Rosie.
Peter, Terry & Dave will meet June 13th or 14th to discuss gas system design; there is a 14 tube multi-tube cable running from the MC8 gas shed to MC7. Since the cable has been left open in MC7, the tubes will have to cleaned at some point in time. Other issues &endash; bottles at MC8 shed, mixing station in MC8, distribution racks (# & location) in MC7, station in MDB for beam CKOVs?
The next call will be Thursday, 13 June 2002, at 3:00 CDT in WH-11SW.
