Upstream Beamline

BEAM - Beamline

Chuck Brown has a composite drawing of the primary & secondary beam line produced &endash; Chuck: forward to Peter of inclusion on MIPP Web page.

Starting Tuesday, 7/30 &endash; survey marks will be installed of primary beam elements in MC5 & MC6.

UBL - Upstream Beamline Detectors

BCKOV

Raja request we proceed with resurfacing mirrors.

In addition to support stands for the CKOVs, support stand will be needed for 3 &endash; E690 beam chambers.

Targets

TGTW - Target Wheel

CTGT - Cryogenic Targets

NTGT - NuMI (MINOS) Target

TPC - Time Projection Chamber

Peter reports DAQ is operational at MC7; Bob Jones is executing a "fix" on 2 electronics boards. If the fix works, all boards will be repaired. Mike Heffner & David Asner will arrive Monday, 7/29 to continue testing boards.

Stationary support stand drawing complete, Ingrid to check; platform frame design estimated completion in 3 weeks; at some point mounting holes will need to be drilled in JGG steel.

Rosy

Welding specs for Rosie's steel are complete, steel material is here. Welding will be done over the week of August 5th; painting is next.

CKOV - Cerenkov

POs placed by Livermore for fabrication of cart, rails and DC#2 inner/outer frame. Delivery is due 3 weeks.

DC - Drift Chambers

Lab 6 test stand - 100% of preamp electronics is now working

Transfer frame &endash; Build at Columbia?

Raja urges Dave to speed up fabrication of chamber bracket work.

Iowa chambers &endash; support stand design in progress; Gary will do drawings in between work on two TPC stands.

TOF - Time of Flight

RICH - Ring Imaging Cerenkov

VME cards have been delivered; PO generated for the 32 channel boards.

NCAL - Calorimeter

Installation

Alignment

Virgil will send out new beam sheet & updated file on MC7 survey. Also, during the next pass in MC7, he will have rails under the RICH documented &endash; one wheel of the RICH is up in the air.

MC7 Enclosure and Counting House

Roof installation in progress &endash; completion about 8/2; PK A/C needs attention &endash; LB to push; Andrey Bobyshev is the CD contact for network upgrade. He is working on a proposal to get necessary hardware in place at MC7 & PKs.
