Leon Beverly's meeting summaries in italics.
BEAM - Beamline
Raja, Dave Carey, Win, Holger and Carol are evaluating three Carey options and one Carol design. A design will be chosen in the next few days.
UBL - Upstream Beamline Detectors
BCKOV
Pipe sections: carbon steel pipes need to be cleaned and painted on the inside.
Terry working on APACS system design. He will email tabulation of equipment needed.
Beam Chambers
RR01, RR02 & RR03 are on casters and located in US MC7. These racks will house the discriminator chasses, which are being used on the large chamber test stand in lab 6.
TGTW - Target Wheel
CTGT - Cryogenic Targets
NTGT - NuMI (MINOS) Target
Peter expects to start work on the TPC 3/10. The work will go on over a period of about 2 months. Installation of stand and rails is complete. The rollers will be attached to the cart this week.
Installation of the power supplies in MS5 is in progress. The four 500 kW supplies needed are now in MS5. There is a requisition in the system to get a task order for the electrical connections to the two new PS.ZipTrack
JGG - Jolly Green Giant
Rosie
DC1-4 (E690 Chambers)
Pierrick reports a cable inventory is in progress. He will determine cable lengths needed this week. All preamp cards have been located. Cross talk thought to be in the test circuit is actually coming from the preamps. With this revelation, Pierrick will re-establish parameters for testing discriminator cards. Source testing of DC3 will be done next week.
DC5 & DC6 (Iowa Chambers)
Decision has been made to use air-cooling for the RMH crates. Dave N. will procure the appropriate crates.
Comments are needed after looking at sketches of possible mounting techniques for holding assembly. Unistrut might be used for the outer (10 x 10 cm) material, but a cap design will be need to support the center area because metal cannot cover or pass through the area of the Rosie aperature. Jim K. to review sketches. The idea of mounting readout crates near the US face of the Rosie return yoke needs further evaluation.
Sten has cards ready to test, around 3/10; testing of the cards will start on the RICH at MC7.
A diode needed to be added to all readout cards before plane assembly can begin. 40% of the cards have been completed. The balance of the cards will be complete in about a week. Them assembly of planes will start.
Lon-Chang is designing and building a new light box to cover the bottom of the calorimeter. Also a muon calibration system will be built. Testing of the fibers is expected to begin about mid-March.
Alignment
Virgil completed compiling data that makes up the laser tracker network in MC6 & MC7. He will present a couple of overheads next week. An as-found survey request is scheduled for the RICH.
Using Gary's floor plan drawing & Raja's spreadsheet, we need to develop a plan of locating drift chambers support stands. System managers need to think about alignment requirements needed for their apparatus and forward request to Raja so the request can be put into alignment crew's queue.
The next call will be Tuesday, 3 March 2003, at 1:00 PM CDT in WH-2NE, Snake Pit.
