Leon Beverly's meeting summaries in italics.
BEAM - Beamline
PPD MD will assist in design of the primary target, target shielding, etc.
UBL - Upstream Beamline Detectors
BCKOV
Pipe length getting longer, is it advantageous to divide the extra length between CKOVs, or put all the length on one CKOV. Win is investigating
TGTW - Target Wheel
CTGT - Cryogenic Targets
NTGT - NuMI (MINOS) Target
Rather than replace connectors, gaskets will be used to seal gas leaks. Likely to do a HV test week of 4/28. Cathode plane has been installed in the TPC.
ZipTrack
JGG - Jolly Green Giant
Rosie
Once John Cooper approves the pORC, Holger will measure Rosie's fringe field in area of TOF.
Raja:
Peter Shanahan and Hogan Nguyen were kind enough to bring up the phototube testing stand today in Lab 5 and demonstrate data taking on one of their tubes.
The DAQ worked well. The Laser was pulsed, the filter wheel was rotated to find the maxima and minima of transmission and a linearity curve was made on the phototube between these limits. The reference was a photodiode.
We then realized that the E690 Cerenkov base was complicated and decided to wait for instructions on how to hook it up before testing one of the E690 Cerenkov counters. Also what sort of tests did you have in mind? We can do linearity and also single photon peaks with this system.
Has been anchored to steel box. HV PS & CAMAC for readout will be located near the CKOV. PMT bases may have MHV HV connectors. If so, the connectors will have to be replaced with SHV connectors.
DC1-4 (E690 Chambers)
When looking at the distribution of hits for each plane (DC2), the noise increases at high threshold. Dave N. is nearly finished with all cable/air assemblies.
DC1
Next on test stand.
DC2
Chamber close up delayed a week from 4/23.
DC3
Next to clean.
DC4
Move to MC7 Monday, 4/28(?)
DC5 & DC6 (Iowa Chambers)
Plan to fit one chamber to support stand in PC4 Wednesday, 4/23.
Prototyping of mounting fixtures is in progress; first shipment of 10 X 10 scintillator due 4/25, no shipment date on 5 X 5 yet. When testing TDC modules, some of them are pulling down the PMT voltage; HV supply and camac readout will be located near the TOF.
Shims needed to get RICH to elevation are fabricated, installation scheduled for later this week. Testing of electronics cards is going well; HV sparking of some tubes is still a problem.
After assembly of planes, ES&H has determined there is no lead residue in MC8. Jim K needs footprint of structure that will hold the planes before he can commence support stand design. HyangKyu to get info to Jim.
Jim K has made progress on support stand design, drawing will be started soon.
Alignment
The next call will be Tuesday, 29 April 2003, at 1:00 PM CDT in WH-2NE, Snake Pit.
