BEAM - Beamline
UBL - Upstream Beamline Detectors
Beam Cerenkov - Mike Heffner
I visited Gordon Koizumi @ FNAL and looked at 2 differential ckov detectors.
- I have pictures and prints
- We have the mirrors but they need recoated
- Looks good...may extend identification to 120 GeV
- ToDo
- do the calculations to determine if the detectors will work for us
- identify the owner of the detectors and verify that we can have them
- start the refurbishment
- Since I have just been assigned to all upstream detectors, I need to determine what the other detectors are
TGTW - Target Wheel
CTGT - Cryogenic Targets
NTGT - NuMI (MINOS) Target
Brief discussion of target and TPC interactions.
Do targets have to be at the center of the TPC window? Soltz: no. We are going to reconstruct the vertex event by event anyway; offsets within the window region won't matter.
Do all targets have to be at the same place? Soltz: yes, so we only use one beamline tune and can (potentially) pool the target out data.

JGG - Jolly Green Giant
Rosy
Most of my efforts to date have been to try to get some funding so we can function. I have submitted a Stewardship Science Academic Alliances Program Preapplication. It is based on the relevance of E907 to Proton Radiography. I have no idea as to its chances.I have had e-mail contact with Ingrid Fang about the NCAL stand and I believe this can go ahead.
I also have recruited a new graduate student who may work on the experiment if I can secure funding. I might point out to the non-university people that graduate students cost us almost as much as postdocs because we have to pay their out-of-state tuition from our grants plus overhead on that and on their stipend. Thus it will not be possible to support a grad student to work on E907 if I don't get the Stewardship Science award. Even my own participation is questionable.

- Raja - Overview
- Barnes - Upcoming Issues
- Heffner - Beam Cerenkov detectors
- Kilmer - Cryo Targets
- Cole - E907 and E910
Add Beam Cerenkov gas requirements to Engineering Meeting Gas System Discussion.
LLNL-FNAL ICO is wending its way through LLNL purchasing. Currently out to DOE.Three Stockpile Stewardship Academic Alliance pre-proposals submitted. No response yet.
Moving this call 30 mins earlier will help a few people; no objections. The next call will be Thursday, 21 February 2002 at 3:30 CST.
