E907 Targets - Cryotarget
The MIPP cryotarget is similar to the E690 target. There have been a few modifications to the control system. The target flasks and Rohacell vacuum sphere around the flask have been build from scratch. The target is controlled through iFix/APACS.
A lot of information on this target, including drawings of mounting in the experiment, can be found in presentations at recent collaboration meetings:

The target was installed in MC7 in the first week of March, 2005. It was run cold in MC7 from 3/4 to 3/7. After maintenance and repair it was cooled again on 3/10/05.
The target was used without further problems throughout the run. Several sets of full and empty cryo-target runs were taken until 4/29/05 and again from 9/24/05 to 12/19/05.
The target cell is approximately a cylinder of 1.5 inch (3.8 cm) diameter and 14 cm length. The caps on the ends are not flat and the exact length is a function of the radius. The total cryo-target system holds 0.2 liters of liquid hydrogen during operation. The target cell holds approximately 0.16 liters.
