PPD Support Services Department

The Support Services Admin Team provides PPD employees, experiments, and guests and visitors with a comprehensive range of services to facilitate scientific research and work life at Fermilab and its mission.

The skills and qualifications of the PPD administrative staff are intentionally matched to the needs of the departments and operating experiments to provide a wide range of services and to meet expanding requirements for world leading scientific programs:

  • Domestic and foreign travel arrangements and reimbursements
  • Purchasing support (electronic requisitions and Procards)
  • Support for Guests and Visitors, student programs and several weekly seminar speakers
  • Support for Fellowship and Research Associate committees in the invitation phase and logistical support for interviewees and final selection candidates
  • Logistical support for collaboration meetings as well as recurring Program Reviews and Directorate and DOE reviews
  • Support for property concerns (annual inventories, onsite asset transfers, property passes, property transfers for collaborations and experiments)
  • Project specific activities (monthly reporting, database activities, accounting transactions, etc.)
  • Participation in annual departmental self-assessments and internal audits
  • Participation in Lab-wide initiatives to facilitate the distribution of information and decrease response time
  • Incorporate new technology, database skills and IT applications
  • Preserve program and historical records in accordance with federal retention schedules
